How far in advance should I come in for a fitting?
This depends on your garments, what you need to have done to them, and if you’re in a busy or slow season. If there is a major holiday between your first fitting and your event, please allow for an extra week – just to be safe! Although I can often accommodate faster turnarounds, these are my suggested timeframes to avoid rush fees and ensure that I can give your project appropriate attention to detail.
- Custom made clothes: plan to have your first consultation 3 months in advance, minimum
- Brides: please schedule your first fitting to be 9 weeks before your wedding or departure date
- Formalwear: please schedule your first fitting to be 7 weeks before your event date or departure date
Do I need to make an appointment?
Yes! I operate by appointment only. Walk-ins can only be rarely accommodated.
Do you alter casual clothing?
The short answer is: yes. The longer answer is that my skill level may be higher than what you need for a casual item. My pricing, minimum, and turnaround do not change for casual items.
What payment methods do you take?
Credit cards are accepted with a 3.5% processing fee. Cash, Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and check are accepted with no fee.
How much will this cost?
I cannot provide an exact quote without an in-person fitting. Please see my pricing listed on my Services page to build an estimate. There is a $150 minimum for all services requiring an in-person fitting. All tickets that are priced at $150 or less for alterations will have a $50 fitting fee included. This means if your alteration cost comes to $150, your total cost will be $200. It may be advantageous to schedule alterations in bulk if the alterations you require are minor. The average bridal alteration costs $500-$750. Most formalwear alterations cost $200-400.
Can I bring friends / family to my fitting?
Yes! In fact, please do! The studio can comfortably sit 2 guests.
What do I need for my fitting?
In addition to your garment, please bring the exact undergarments (especially bras and shapewear!!) and shoes you plan to wear with it. If you have long hair, a hair tie or clip is needed so the bodice can be accessed!
When do I pay?
A $150 deposit is required at the end of your first fitting. For those who have a second fitting, 50% of your total is due at the end of your second fitting. Final payment is made at pick-up. All custom orders are paid by contracted dates. For all orders quoted over $1000, a payment plan with contracted dates will be made during the first fitting.
